General Motors Co. recently released a teaser image of the 2016 model and will take the wraps off the vehicle later this month at a media event in Detroit. The car's updated styling borrows design elements from Chevy's latest Impala, Malibu and Volt cars, featuring a more angular stance and new grille.
The revised Cruze also will get new technologies and powertrains and additional optional safety equipment. It will be one of the first Chevys to offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone interfaces.
The Cruze is Chevrolet's best-selling model with cumulative global sales surpassing 3.5 million units. Demand in the U.S. grew 10% to 273,000 units last year, with 35% of buyers new to the brand, according to GM.
