Ten automakers are ranked among the world's 100 largest public companies in a report by Forbes magazine.

Volkswagen is as the biggest carmaker, placing 17th among the top 100. Forbes rates companies by an equal weighting of assets, market value, profits and sales. The top five companies this year are Exxon Mobil, JPMorgan Chase, General Electric, Royal Dutch Shell and Chinese bank ICBC.
Toyota advanced 30 slots to place 55th. General Motors, the largest automaker by vehicle sales last year, took 63rd place.
The other carmakers in the top 100 and their rank are: Daimler (37), Ford (44), Honda (59), BMW (61), Nissan (85) and Hyundai (95). Further down the list are Renault (187), SAIC Motor (232), Kia (253), Fiat-Chrysler (314) and Tata (348).
