Citizen proprietary control technology offers “one-button” functionality to help speed and simplify setups on CNC Swiss-type lathes with no manual data input (MDI) or jog wheel required. The control holds data for the part program current running. This data is used by the running system to enable a complex multi-axis, multi-tool-zone machine to be both safe and user friendly to set up. Examples of key information include barstock size, rapid approach distance, modular tool holders used to specifically define tool positions, spindle directions and potential collision zones due to the specific tooling systems used.
