Airline Passenger Miles Jump 1.9% in January

According to the Bureau of Transportation, system revenue passenger miles were 63.1 billion in January 2013. This is the most passenger miles flown in January since 2008. Also, this was 1.9% more than the number of passenger miles flown in January 2012. This is the third consecutive month of month-over-month growth and the fastest rate of month-over-month growth since March 2012. Annually, the rate of growth has been virtually flat since July 2012. This looks to be a positive sign for future aerospace industrial production. Real personal income is a good leading indicator for system revenue passenger miles.
