Position Overview: As a Senior Media Sales Executive at Gardner Business Media, you will drive advertising and partnership revenue for one or more of our leading B2B media brands serving specialized manufacturing industries, including plastics processing, surface finishing, composites manufacturing, and related technical sectors.

Our brands provide trusted, in-depth content through print magazines, high-traffic websites, e-newsletters, podcasts, webinars, digital channels, and more — connecting highly engaged professionals and decision-makers in manufacturing. You will manage a strategic portfolio of clients, focusing on maintaining and growing existing accounts while developing prospects into loyal, high-value new customers. This consultative, value-driven role helps suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and service providers build brand authority, generate qualified leads, and achieve measurable ROI through our high-value product mix.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and grow existing accounts through proactive relationship management, renewal strategies, upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and ongoing value demonstrations to increase share of wallet and ensure long-term advertiser success.
  • Develop prospects into new customers by identifying high-potential targets, conducting consultative discovery, building tailored proposals, and closing new business efficiently to expand the client base.
  • Sell and grow revenue across our integrated mix: traditional print advertising, website display, digital/programmatic ads, sponsorships, lead generation programs, native content, webinars, email marketing, and custom solutions.
  • Deliver clear, compelling value propositions that highlight our brands' exceptional audience reach, trusted editorial environments, engaged decision-makers, and proven ROI in niche manufacturing markets.
  • Own the full sales cycle with a focus on uniform processes: prospecting, needs discovery, proposal creation, negotiation, closing, and post-sale account nurturing to shorten conversion timelines.
  • Leverage audience data, performance metrics, case studies, and industry insights to demonstrate rapid value and accelerate deals.
  • Collaborate closely with editorial, marketing, digital, and events teams to create integrated campaigns that deliver maximum client impact.
  • Stay current on relevant manufacturing trends (e.g., materials innovation, sustainability, automation, process advancements) to provide strategic counsel.
  • Track pipeline, forecasts, renewals, and performance in Ad Orbit CRM.
  • Participate in client meetings, trade shows, and industry events to strengthen relationships and uncover opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of successful B2B media, advertising, or sponsorship sales experience, ideally in niche industrial, technical, or manufacturing-related publications/digital platforms.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets, with strong emphasis on account retention/growth and new business development in print + digital/integrated media sales.
  • Excellent consultative selling skills with the ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex, high-value product offerings to technical buyers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for creating impactful proposals, analytics, and presentations.
  • Experience using sales intelligence/recording tools like Gong to refine pitches, improve conversations, and boost win rates.
  • Working knowledge of Ad Orbit CRM (or similar enterprise CRM systems) for accurate pipeline, renewal, and forecasting management.
  • Industry experience in Plastics, Composites, or Finishing sectors strongly preferred; existing knowledge base and/or contacts in these or related manufacturing fields a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and key industry events (company car provided for business use).
