In the annals of racing, there are but a few names that resonate with historic significance. One of those names is that of Jim Clark, who is shown in a Lotus Type 38 in the photo above. While some people might associate Clark with his prowess on that F1 circuit, that image is actually from the Indianapolis 500, which Clark won in 1965.
Chances are, when you think “Lotus” you don’t think “Indy.” Unless of course you are a big racing fan or are old enough to remember that Lotus regularly raced at the 500 during the ‘60s.
Now they’re back. This is a rendering of the car that will be campaigned by the KV Racing Technology team in the 2010 IndyCar series, which kicks off tomorrow (March 14) with the Sao Paolo 300.
The Lotus-Cosworth car is being driven by former F1 driver Takuma Sato.
While plenty of things have changed in the last 45 years, that yellow and green livery still shines.
