VW Tops 30 Million Sales in China

Volkswagen AG’s namesake brand says it surpassed cumulative vehicle sales of 30 million vehicles in China.

The milestone vehicle, a Touareg crossover (pictured), was delivered earlier this month. VW, which sold just 2,000 cars in China in 1985, achieved its 10 millionth sale there in 2011 and topped the 20-million mark four years later.

VW and its joint venture partners launched nine models in China last year. Another five vehicles are due next year, including three locally produced electrics.
