VW to Build €790 Million Van Factory in Poland

The facility, valued at 3.4 billion zlotys, will employ more than 2,300, according to the company. Plant construction will begin at the end of this year.
VW says the factory sets a course for the "strategic realignment" of the company's light-commercial vehicles. VW already builds the Caddy and T5 commercial vehicles in Poznan, Poland.
Wage rates in Poland average less than €7 per hour compared with about €37 in Germany, according to the Cologne Institute for Economic Research.
