Volkswagen AG has replaced Jonathan Browning, CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, who says he is leaving the company for personal reasons.
Browning, who has held the CEO job since 2010, will be replaced on Jan. 1 by Michael Horn, currently head of VW's global aftermarket operation.
Browning, a former executive at Jaguar and General Motors, became the fourth CEO to lead VWA in five years. Under his watch, VW group sales in the U.S. jumped sharply in 2011 and 2012. But volume is down 1% so far this year in a market that has expanded 8% overall, according to Autodata Corp.
