Volkswagen Group of America Inc. has appointed former KPMG director Stephanie Davis, 33, as its chief compliance officer, effective immediately.
Her immediate goal will be to ensure that the company fully complies with U.S. environmental regulations in the wake of its diesel emission cheating scandal. The carmaker will be independently monitored in that regard for the next three years by Larry Thompson, a former deputy U.S. attorney general.
Davis will report to Hinrich Woebcken, president and CEO of VWGoA. He says she will “drive a culture of compliance and integrity” within its U.S. operations.
At KPMG, Davis was director of the advisory firm’s national forensic practice in Washington, D.C. She has more than 10 years of experience designing, implementing and monitoring compliance programs in corporate, advisory and academic settings, according to the carmaker.
