The largest unit gains came in Europe (+3% to 411,700 vehicles) and China (+5% to 315,300). Sales in Germany declined 2% to 124,400 cars and trucks.
Passenger vehicle deliveries expanded 4% to 857,600 units in June, paced by a 4% increase to 512,700 for the company’s VW cars and SUVs. Audi sales advanced only 1% to 170,600 units. But deliveries climbed 3% to 105,200 vehicles for Skoda, 13% to 45,200 for SEAT and 11% to 22,500 for Porsche.
Light-duty commercial truck sales grew 3% to 45,000 units. Volume for the group’s Scania and MAN heavy-duty marques advanced by a combined 5% to 18,100 units.
