Volkswagen AG’s captive finance unit has launched a website in Germany to list high-margin used cars.

Called Hey Car, the platform handles such brands as Fiat, Renault and Volvo in addition to VW Group’s Audi and VW marques. Reuters notes that almost all online used-car sales currently occur on the mobile.de and autoscout24.de websites.

Christian Dahlhiem, who heads sales for Hey Car, says the service has “absolutely nothing” to do with sagging residual values on diesel-powered vehicles, thus refuting analysts who opine otherwise.

Reuters says Hey Car, which debuted in early October, has built a list of 50,000 used vehicles and aims to triple that number next year and eventually reaching about 300,000 listings.
