Volkswagen AG has introduced the first models it will begin selling in China this year under its Jetta sub-brand: a sedan and two crossover vehicles.

VW has offered few details about the three models, except to say it designed them at its headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany. All will ride on the company’s high-volume “MQB” platform, which underpins VW-brand front-wheel-drive Polo and Golf hatchbacks, Jetta and Passat small sedans and Tiguan small crossovers.
The carmaker announced the Jetta entry-level brand in February. With prices starting at about 45,700 yuan ($6,800), the marque will aim at young, first-time buyers in markets beyond China’s top-tier cities. Jetta-brand vehicles will be sold in China through their own dealer network.
