VW Brand Sales Fell 5% in May

Volkswagen AG says its VW brand delivered 512,100 vehicles last month, down 5% from the same month in 2018.

Sales in May advanced 9% to 53,400 units in North America, 2% to 53,700 vehicles in Germany and 5% to 44,300 cars and trucks in South America. But year-on-year volumes fell last month in Asia Pacific (-8% to 245,400 units) and Europe (-6% to 157,500).

VW brand sales through the first five months of 2019 slid 5% to 2.46 million units, according to the company.
