VW Bids to Host 2021 ITS World Congress

Volkswagen AG and its partner city of Hamburg, Germany, have submitted a bid to host the 2021 ITS World Congress.

Last summer VW and Hamburg signed a three-year agreement to jointly develop technologies and services to make urban mobility safer, cleaner, more reliable and more efficient. Projects will include systems related to autonomous and connected vehicles, ride-sharing, multi-mode transportation, smart parking, traffic management and other emerging technologies for freight and personal transportation.

VW made the announcement at this week’s ITS European Congress in Strasbourg, France.
