Volvo to Unveil Stylish Wagon Concept

Volvo Car Group will debut its swoopy Concept Estate wagon at next week's Geneva auto show.
The three-door wagon follows earlier coupe and crossover concepts that Volvo says indicate the styling of its next-generation models, beginning with the upcoming XC90 crossover. The Concept Estate will be the first to show what the interiors of those vehicles will look like.
A key element in the cockpit design is a tablet-like vertical touch panel in the center console. Volvo says the screen, which will be controlled by Volvo-developed software, will replace all buttons and controls except for those related to hazard warnings, window heaters and audio system volume and play/pause functions.
The wagon's simple interior design affects the look of a Swedish living room with naturally aged wood trim, machined copper accents and an instrument panel wrapped in saddle leather. The concept also is fitted with a glass roof and thin-shell front seats.
