Volvo Bullish About Exceeding 2020 Sales Goal
CEO Hakan Samuelsson says Volvo Car Corp. “probably” will surpass its goal of selling 800,000 vehicles worldwide by 2020.
CEO Hakan Samuelsson says Volvo Car Corp. “probably” will surpass its goal of selling 800,000 vehicles worldwide by 2020.
Last year the company’s sales reached a record 534,300 units. Samuelsson tells a conference in Barcelona he’s confident about setting a new record in 2017, thanks to new models that will include the all-new small XC40 crossover vehicle.
But Samuelsson emphasizes that Volvo’s growth won’t be driven by sales targets. Defining success that way, he declares, is “a good way to destroy a company.”
