Last year the group delivered 9.73 million vehicles, helped by surging demand in China that offset sagging sales in the U.S. The company outsold General Motors Co. in China in 2013 for the first time since 2004.
VW says it will introduce 100 new or redesigned vehicles by 2015 under its previously announced €84 billion investment program to overtake Toyota Motor Corp. as the world's highest-volume carmaker by 2018.
