CAAM says deliveries of passenger car advanced 4% to 2.17 million units last month. SUV/crossover volume jumped 11% to 920,000 units, and sedans rose 4% to 1.02 million. Commercial vehicle shipments grew 11% to 487,700 units.
The trade group says wholesale deliveries of hybrid and pure-electric vehicles more than doubled to 68,000 units in March. Three-quarters of the total were all-electric models.
