Car and truck sales in Thailand, which shrank in each of the past three years, are on track to grow 8% to 830,000 this year, says the Federation of Thai Industries.

Monthly sales so far this year have surpassed year-earlier volumes, including a 7% increase to 68,000 units last month.

Domestic sales slumped after the government ended a sales incentive scheme for first-time buyers near the end of 2012. FT says the program boosted car sales 81% that year.
