Passenger vehicle deliveries slid 11% to 250,000 last month.
Fenabrave has halved its earlier forecast that Brazil's sales would grow 3% for the full year. The group now expects deliveries there to reach a record 3.86 million units in 2013.
In the January-July period, motor vehicle sales in the country rose 3% year over year to 2.14 million vehicles.
