The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has begun a preliminary probe into 54 complaints about Chrysler cars that stall after being refueled.
The investigation covers 2006 model Chrysler 300C, Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum cars, all equipped with 5.7-liter or 6.1-liter Hemi V-8 engines.
Complaints typically cite multiple stalling incidents and say their vehicles can be difficult or impossible to restart immediately. The agency notes that half the complaints it received came in within the past eight months, suggesting a growing trend.
