U.S. DOT Chief to Keynote AutoMobili-D in Detroit

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao will be the keynote speaker to launch the Detroit auto show’s AutoMobili-D expo next month.

Chao says she will use the occasion to share DOT’s “vision for promoting the safe and secure integration of new technologies into our country’s transportation infrastructure.”

Named to her post earlier late last year, Chao began her executive career working on transportation and trade issues in the White House. She later served as DOT’s deputy maritime administrator and DOT deputy secretary.

Chao’s presentation will kick off the eight-day-long AutoMobili-D expo on Sunday, Jan. 13. Organizers say the event will showcase more than 150 advanced mobility participants, ranging from carmakers and supplier to tech startups, universities and government organizations.
