Johan de Nysschen, who resigned as president of Nissan Motor Co.'s Infiniti luxury brand earlier this week, has been named president of General Motors Co.'s global Cadillac operations. He will begin his new job on Aug. 1.
Now 54, de Nysschen was president of Audi of America when he left in June 2012 to join Infiniti as the marque established its headquarters in Hong Kong.
Infiniti Chairman Andy Palmer tells Automotive News that de Nysschen quit because of a strong desire to return to the U.S., where his family remained when he took the Infiniti job.
At Cadillac, he will be responsible for the brand's sales, pricing, brand development, marketing and product planning.
