The U.K.’s auto industry increased its output in September by about 1,500 units to 159,700 vehicles, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

The trade group notes that production for export rose 5% last month, but output intended for the home market fell 11%.

SMMT says vehicle assembly through the first nine months of 2016 rose 11% to 1.29 million units. Exports, which account for 78% of the country’s production, topped 1 million units in the first three quarters for the first time ever.
