Former Ford Motor Co. executive Sherif Marakby, who left last year to head global vehicle programs for Uber Technologies Inc., is coming back.
Marakby, 51, had been Ford’s director of global electrical and electronic systems engineering when he joined Uber. Earlier today the carmaker appointed him to the newly created post of vice president of autonomous vehicles and electrification program.
Marakby had worked at Ford for 25 year in various product development positions in Europe and the U.S. before moving to Uber. He is among a growing list of senior managers who have quit the ride-sharing service within the past six months.
