President Donald Trump will hold a breakfast meeting today with the CEOs of General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to discuss jobs in the U.S.
The meeting will mark the first time the CEOs of all three companies have meet with a U.S. president since they gathered in 2011 to discuss fuel economy standards with Barack Obama.
Carmakers have been scrambling to respond to Trump’s demands that they move jobs from Mexico to the U.S. Their responses to date have involved projects that were being contemplated previous to the request. The White House says Trump wants to hear the CEOs’ views on how to repatriate more jobs in the future.
