Deliveries of commercial trucks and buses in Europe climbed 6% to 227,300 units in September, according to trade group ACEA. Sales for the year to date rose 13% to 1.78 million vehicles.
September results were mixed among the region’s five largest national markets. Sales slipped 1% to 65,200 units in the U.K. and 40,100 vehicles in France. But volume rose in Germany (+5% to 28,700 units), Italy (+46% to 18,400) and Spain (+14% to 16,300).
Demand for heavy-duty trucks rose 3% to 26,600 units last month. Hefty gains in most large markets offset a 34% drop to 3,200 units in the U.K.
