Europe's demand for commercial trucks, vans and buses rose to 191,900 units in March from 173,100 a year earlier, industry group ACEA reports.

It was the seventh consecutive month of year-on-year growth. Results were led by a 12% hike to 162,700 units in deliveries of light commercial vehicles last month.

Volume advanced in all five of Europe's largest truck markets in March. Sales gained in the U.K. (+11% to 54,600 units) France (+0.3% to 37,100 ), Germany (+10% to 27,600), Italy (+16% to 11,700) and Spain (+27% to 10,600).

For the first quarter of 2014, combined truck sales across Europe climbed 9% to 459,900 vehicles.
