Truck Sales in Europe Jump 8%

Registrations of commercial vehicles across Europe climbed 8% to 223,300 units in April, their biggest monthly gain all year.

Sales through the first four months of 2019 totaled 899,400 vehicles, up 6% compared with the same period last year, trade group ACEA reports.

April deliveries grew in France (+13% to 49,300 vehicles), Germany (+10% to 35,500), Italy (+12% to 17,700), the U.K. (+5% to 29,700) and Spain (+6% to 22,300).

ACEA says demand for light commercial vehicles last month rose 8% to 183,300 units last month. Sales of heavy trucks climbed 5% to 29,700 units. Commercial bus deliveries fell 4% to 3,500.
