Truck Sales in Europe Gain 1%

Monthly deliveries in Europe’s five largest markets were mixed. Demand grew in Germany (+6% to 30,300 vehicles) and Spain (+8% to 17,600). But sales fell in the U.K. (-6% to 63,200) and Italy (-1% to 18,200). Registrations were unchanged in France at 40,100 units.
Sales of light commercial vehicles (3.5 tons) advanced 2% to 195,000 units in September. But sales of heavy trucks (16 tons and above) shrank 6% to 26,300 units, and deliveries of medium-duty trucks dropped 8% go 5,700 vehicles.
ACEA says commercial vehicles sales in Europe through the first nine months of 2017 totaled 1.84 million units compared with 1.78 million in January-September last year.
