Truck Sales Climb 8% in Europe

January deliveries of commercial trucks and buses across Europe expanded to 179,000 units from 165,600 vehicles in the same month last year, industry trade group ACEA reports.

In the region’s largest markets, sales rose in France (+10% to 35,200 units), the U.K. (+2% to 25,200), Germany (+3% to 24,800), Spain (+24% to 16,200) and Italy (+11% to 14,800).

ACEA says demand for heavy-duty trucks (16 tonnes or more), advanced 4% to 23,900 vehicles. Commercial bus sales grew 3% to 2,900 units.
