Truck Sales Climb 10% in Europe

Sales of commercial vehicles across Europe rose to 172,500 units in June from 156,800 a year earlier, reports industry group ACEA.

Demand for light commercial vehicles surged 13% to 145,800 units last month. Sales of medium- and heavy-duty trucks dropped 4% to 23,700 units.

ACEA notes that June's overall improvement marked the 10th consecutive month of growth for Europe's commercial truck market.

Truck sales advanced in all major markets last month. Volume grew 4% to 40,600 units in France, 26% to 34,300 in the U.K., 7% to 28,900 in Germany, 19% to 11,500 in Spain and 9% to 11,000 in Italy.
