Toyota to Debut Lexus Brand in India This Week

Toyota Motor Corp. will officially introduce its Lexus luxury brand in India when it opens its first retail store in Mumbai on Friday.

Toyota has been accepting orders for five models since November and expects to begin making deliveries later this month. The vehicles will be priced between 7.5 million rupees ($114,600) and 20 million rupees ($305,600)

Initial models—all of them imported—will include three hybrids: the ES300h midsize sedan, RX450h sporty midsize crossover vehicle and LX450h large SUV.

Lexus also will offer two variants of the seven-passenger LX series. The LX450d SUV will powered by a 269-hp diesel. The top-of-the-line LX570 will come with a twin-turbocharged V-8 that makes 383 hp.
