Toyota Motor Corp. unveiled its GR Supra Racing Concept on Tuesday at the Geneva auto show.

The concept previews and confirms the name for the upcoming sports car Toyota plans to introduce next year. Toyota is developing the rear-wheel-drive platform with BMW AG, which unveiled the Concept Z4 roadster last August.

Toyota will position the all-new Supra as a halo model to help bring more emotional appeal and excitement to the brand. Pricing is expected to start at about $50,000.

Named after Toyota’s Gazoo Racing operations, the GR Supra concept is a track-only model that maintains many of the styling cues from Toyota’s 2014 FT-1 concept car. This includes a massive rear wing and lightweight body panels.

The single-seat racing concept is fitted with a roll cage, driver’s race harness and quick-release steering wheel with paddle shifters. The car rides on center-locking BBS wheels with Michelin race tires.
