Toyota Drops Super Bowl Ads for 2017 Game

Toyota Motor Co. says its Toyota brand won’t be running any television ads during next February’s Super Bowl football game in Houston. The company’s Lexus luxury car division hasn’t revealed its plans.
Toyota has been a regular Super Bowl advertiser for the past five years. The company tells Automotive News it will sit out the next game only because its next two new models—the all-new C-HR small crossover and redesigned Camry sedan—won’t be ready to launch until at least May.
The zoomy C-HR began production earlier this month at Toyota’s assembly plant in Arifiye, Turkey. The vehicle, which rides on the carmaker’s New Global Architecture platform, will be marketed in more than 50 countries.
