Toyota Motor Corp. aims to make its next-generation Auris small hatchback in the U.K. on the belief that England will reach transitional trade deals as it exits the EU.
Sources tell Reuters that Toyota’s board will make a final determination by the end of this year and announce their decision in early 2018.
Toyota makes the current-generation Auris and midsize Avensis sedan at its factory in Burnaston, England. The new Auris is expected in 2021. Last March Toyota said it would spend £240 million ($314 million) to upgrade the plant for a new global car platform.
