Toyota Motor Corp.’s unveiled its latest TRD Pro lineup for its Tacoma SUV and 4Runner and Tundra pickup trucks at this week’s Chicago auto show.

All three 2019 models get new 2.5-inch Fox aluminum internal bypass shocks in place of external bypass tubes typically used on off-road race vehicles. The internal units are designed to better manage damping pressure by incorporating multiple bypass zones inside the shock absorber, according to the carmaker.

The front shocks are paired with specially tuned TRD springs to enhance ride comfort. The rear shocks include an oil reservoir to ensure peak damping performance during extreme use.

The Tacoma TRD Pro (left) gets a 1-inch wider track, larger front sway bar, updated front skid plate and TRD exhaust system with a black chrome tip. A “snorkel” intake also is available to help keep dust and dirt out of the 278-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine. Interior highlights include a JBL audio unit and integrated navigation system.

The 4Runner TRD Pro adds a new roof rack, front skid plate and 17-inch alloys finished in matte black and wrapped in Nitto Terra Grappler P265/70R17 A/T tires. the 4Runner also gets a standard JBL sound system.

The Tundra TRD Pro (above right) features LED fog lights and headlights, a revised grille and hood, TRD Pro exhaust and an optional moonroof. The truck sits on 18-inch BBS forged-aluminum, five-spoke satin black wheels, which save a combined 13 lbs. of unsprung mass.

Toyota says more than 40% of Tacoma, 4Runner and Tundra sales in the U.S. comes from TRD models. The 2019 line will debut this autumn.
