Honda Motor Co. is offering Apple Inc.'s Siri voice-activated telematics technology in three of its 2013 models sold in the U.S.

The dealer-installed option will be available later this year in the Acura RDX crossover, Acura ILX sedan and Honda Accord sedan. The system requires the driver to have an iPhone running Apple's iOS 6.x operating system.

Siri's "eyes-free" mode enables the driver to ask the system to dial phone numbers, read text messages aloud, look up information and perform other chores. The Honda installation will link the phone via Bluetooth to the vehicle's audio system.

Audi, BMW, Chrysler, General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota said last year they plan to soon offer Siri connectivity too.
