Tesla Shortens Its Name

Today Tesla Motors Inc. shortened its name to Tesla Inc. The change reflects the company’s broadened business scope after acquiring solar panel maker SolarCity Corp. in November.

Tesla also sells stationary Powerwall battery backup systems for homes and small businesses. The company began displaying Powerwall products at several of its vehicle salesrooms worldwide three months ago.
