Lake Forest, Ill.-based Tenneco Inc. plans to open a $23 million customer center in Northville Township, Mich.
The company, which makes filtration, exhaust and suspension components, intends to break ground on the 100,000-sq-ft Michigan facility next month and open it by late 2018. Tenneco expects to hire 100 people to work at the facility over the next five years.
The center will support Tenneco’s existing engineering and technical operations in Grass Lake and Monroe, Mich. Tenneco says it has more than doubled its workforce at the Grass Lake center in the last decade. The Monroe complex, which also serves as the headquarters for the company’s Ride Performance unit, expanded employment by 35% during that time.
