Prosecutors in Zurich have agreed to help Japan’s investigation into alleged financial wrongdoing by Carlos Ghosn, former chairman of Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi.

The Swiss investigators confirms that Japan asked for legal assistance. But they have offered no further details about the nature or extent of the aid.

The prosecutors’ office adds that it is not conducting its own probe into Ghosn’s affairs.
