Suzuki Motor Corp. plans to erect an 18-megawatt solar power station in Shizuoka prefecture, Japan.
The 5.6 billion-yen ($56-million) facility will open in autumn 2015. Suzuki says the facility will sell its power, enough to supply 5,700 typical households in Japan, to Chubu Electric Power Co.
The company also plans to add solar panels at two other locations, including on the roof of the factory plant it plans to build in Hamamatsu.
