PSA Group credits an array of new SUV/crossover vehicles—and its acquisition of Opel/Vauxhall in August—for boosting sales 15% to 3.63 million units in 2017.

The company’s sales minus Opel rose 5% through the first 11 months of last year. Core results for the full year were led by a 10% jump to 2.12 million vehicles in demand for PSA’s Peugeot brand. Deliveries of light commercial vehicles surged 20% to 476,000 units.

Those gains overcame sales declines of 8% for PSA’s Citroen brand, and 39% of the upscale DS brand in 2017. Two-third of the company’s overall sales occur in Europe, a ratio that was increased by the Opel acquisition.
