The campaign involves 2005-2009 model Legacy sedans and Outback crossovers, 2008-2011 Impreza sedans, 2008-2014 Impreza WRX/STI sport sedans and 2009-2013 Forester SUVs. All affected vehicles are in America's 20-state snow belt states and the District of Columbia.
More than 200,000 of the vehicles were recalled in April for the same defect but haven't yet been repaired. Subaru, a unit of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., reports no crashes or injuries related to the problem.
