Subaru Inc. has named Tomomi Nakamura, currently chairman and CEO of its North American unit, to become the company’s global president and chief operating officer.
Nakamura, 58, will succeed Yasuyuki Yoshinaga in those two roles. Yoshinaga will become Subaru’s chairman.
Nakamura has held his current U.S. assignment since April 2014. Previous assignments at Subaru included corporate planning, global marketing and both domestic and overseas sales.
Tom Doll (left), president of its North American operations since 2013, will replace Nakamura as CEO of that unit. Doll, who joined Subaru in 1982, is past a past chief financial officer and chief operating officer in North American. He will be the region’s first American to hold the unit’s CEO position.
All three of the new assignments will take effect at Subaru’s shareholder meeting in June.
