Shelby International Inc.’s Shelby American unit says its new F-150 Super Snake performance pickup truck’s supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine is tuned to generate 750 hp.

The vehicle, which is based on Ford Motor Co.’s 2017 model F-150 pickup with a 365-hp V-8, has more than 45 proprietary upgrades that enable the increased output, according to Shelby. The company worked on the vehicle with Ford’s performance operations and exhaust specialist Borla Performance Industries.

Two- and four-wheel-drive versions of the Super Snake will be offered. The vehicle also gets an upgraded suspension and a Shelby hood, bumpers, side skirts, and tonneau cover, along with Super Snake badging throughout the interior and exterior.

The high-performance truck will be unveiled Saturday at the annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show in California. Shelby plans to build 150 of the vehicles this year, with pricing starting at $97,000.
