SEAT describes the compact vehicle, currently in development at SEAT's technical center in Martorell, as a "cornerstone" of its future product portfolio. Europe's crossover/SUV market is approaching annual volumes of 1 million units, up 40% in the past five years.
Bloomberg News cites an unnamed source who says the new model will be produced by VW's Skoda unit in the Czech Republic, probably on the same line that builds the Skoda Yeti small SUV.
