Scania AB has advised its shareholders not to accept Volkswagen AG's €6.7 billion tender offer for their shares until the truckmaker's board reviews the deal.

Last week VW said it will pay 200 kronor (€22.28) per share for the 10.8% of Scania it doesn't own. The acceptance period for the offer will begin on March 17.

Scania's board has hired legal advisor Mannheimer Swartling and financial advisors Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley to help it assess the offer. The truckmaker has not indicated when it expects to complete its analysis.
