Sales of passenger vehicles in China rose 12% year on year to 1.32 million units in July down from 14% growth in June, according to the country's Passenger Car Assn.

Honda, Nissan and Toyota reported their deliveries in China last month fell 23%, 12% and 1%, respectively.

The China Automobile Dealers Assn. says dealer inventories remain relatively high. Bloomberg News notes that demand for Chrysler Jeep SUVs and luxury cars from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz has eased as the government continues to investigate those brands for price gouging on vehicles and replacement parts.
